Valentin (Val) works at the intersection across multiple disciplines. He thrives in situations where scientific ingenuity, curiosity, technology, artistic zest, humanism and financially sound models flow together to create harmonic, scaleable solutions to intractable problems.

Val has lived and worked in Europe, USA and Asia. He is an engineer, economist and financier, and a humanist at heart.

Most recently, Val worked at Goldman Sachs. First in London, where he headed some of the most high profile transactions in the technology, media and telecom spaces.

He then moved to Goldman Sachs’ offices in San Francisco and Menlo Park to head globally its Emerging Technologies investment efforts, focusing on AI, robotics, transportation technology, space, digital finance and health amongst others, as well as the enterprise technology sector.

Val started his career designing networks for Cisco and then spent a few years working in different capacities and markets, across telecom and internet businesses.

Val remains endlessly curious about what makes a good life. He spends his free time exploring the worlds of maths, philosophy, science and the arts, as well as having as many adventures he can squeeze in with his wife and sons.
